The Easton 3.2mm parallel pro is a modern day arrow designed for the modern day compound, back in the early days there was a need to make compound arrows as light as possible for maximum speed.
With todays advancement in technology compounds of today offer so much speed that a light arrow is not needed, instead the shaft has been designed to be slightly heavier than previous target arrows resulting in an arrow that is more stable in flight and less effected by the wind resulting in a more forgiving arrow.
The bonus to having a parallel shaft over a tapered or barrelled design also comes in the form of cost, both tapered and barrelled shaft manufacturing is a long drawn out and complicated process adding in an additional cost which parallel shafts do not have.
