Emily Summers -

I started archery through a club held at my primary school and enjoyed it so much that I completed a beginners’ course at Deer Park Archers aged 10. I have always shot barebow, and by the summer of 2017 I was representing the county junior team at the GWAS intercounties, and entered the junior indoor nationals the same year, where I was placed 2nd. Soon I became the U14 JNOC champion in 2018 and achieved several British records. Since then, I have continued to compete, often continuing to place in the top 3 at the junior nationals. Currently, I am ranked number 2 in UK junior ladies’ barebow and am looking forward to the opportunities presented by World Archery recognising barebow, and the possibility of international competition.

Whilst I have had lots of success in various competitions, I find the friendships that I have made through archery equally rewarding.

Thank you to Wales Archery for all their support.
