Hannah Porter -

Since I was really young, I’ve been fascinated with archery, and 5 years ago I finally attended a beginners course at Coastal Archers and never looked back! I started with Recurve and 2021 season was my first full season with the Longbow. As Head Veterinary Nurse of my Vet Clinic, I find it hard to fit in practice but I attend club sessions as much as I can. I am also a Level 1 coach and really enjoy introducing newbies to the sport.

This last year has been anything but boring! Having a major illness in May, which I am still recovering from, has held me back from a few competitions this year. I have still managed to hold a position in the top 10 lady longbow archers in the UK rankings and achieved an MB classification. I’m looking forward to the indoor season and will be fighting fit for next year.

A great achievement from this year has to be shooting in my first international competition with the Bowmen of Guernsey. For this shoot I was lucky enough to bring home the trophy for lady longbow and I can’t wait do attend their shoot next year.

Thank you for the continued support from my family, friends and Wales Archery Specialists.
