Steve Edwards -

I must have been 13 or 14 years old, during a summer holiday in school, and a mate suggested I go with him to his local club to try archery. Over that summer we used fiberglass bows, culminating in my first tournament at an Oxford school, while travelling there we stopped on the way, parking on the verge outside Crick next to the metal archery target sign hanging outside the best shop in the world.

Step forward nearly 30 years and my son wanted to have lessons, his second lesson in and my obsession started, I joined the beginners course.

I spent quite a few years perfecting my skills with a recurve, having some success at MB level and shooting many times for Wales including the test event in Delhi for the 2010 commonwealth Games gaining a great understanding of team shooting and some lifelong friends.

Having seen the light 7 years ago, I moved to the dark side, buying my first (and I’ve had a few) compound bow from Wales Archery. Never looked back and simply can’t thank everyone at Wales Archery for all their help, support and guidance through all the great times I’ve had (so far).
